About the Animals
We love our pets so very much!
They are children to many of us, they are innocent, and they have many great lessons for us.
Throughout my life, I have turned to the animals for the unconditional love they give freely. The animals and I have a mutual respect, understanding and HUGE love for each other. And for the past 25 years, I have had the great pleasure to be a steward to the animals through my small business, where they have undoubtedly given me more than I could ever give them.
Through this work, I have learned special ways of communicating with them and have experienced a profound understanding of how we all affect one another in the great web of life.
As well, the animals have been very good mirrors for me, reflecting back just what I needed to see in myself. Here is a story of one of my many lessons.
A lesson from Cassie:
Cassie was born into this world as a small, shy, fearful, and sweet Staffordshire Terrier, also known as a small English-bred pit-bull. I met her when she was three month’s old and right away she reminded me of my own early years – shy and somewhat insecure. But at that time, I had a 12-hour commute, two young children and one dog already at home. The last thing I needed was another dog. However, as luck would have it for both of us, I could not walk away from her. Something inside of me told me we already had a great love for one another and as it turned out we also had important lessons for each other.
The first thing I noticed about Cassie, besides her sweetness and willingness to cooperate, was how very afraid she was – of everything it seemed! And yet she responded to love more than any animal I had ever known. It seemed an unusual combination to me – to be so afraid and so loving at the same time. And surprisingly, within minutes of our first meeting, it was as if her sweetness, love, and even her fear, shined right into my soul. I knew then that I wanted nothing more than to help this fearful little dog find her confidence in life and her place in this world.
However, I had my own insecurities and challenges to deal with.
I was a single mother, with a full-time job and long commute, struggling to make ends meet. I was dealing with a host of difficult past and present issues, already had a dog, and was afraid of Cassie’s breed. Any one of those would have been enough to walk away – and yet somehow I just couldn’t leave. We truly had instantly bonded. And at the time I had no idea that the help I had pledged to give Cassie – her confidence and her love – would inspire me to face my fears and to become more confident and loving.
I am forever grateful to her and the many other animals I have known and loved.
My fellowship with them provides me with a beautiful opportunity to communicate with them and share their voice with others.
Check out my offerings for animals! I love them all! Love is bountiful and those who know love, will ignite it in others! The animals are great teachers of this lesson. They illuminate you with their love!
